Lights! Camera! Hot Asphalt!

;p ;p ;p ;p ;p ;p ;p ;p ;p ;p

Well, it's fun to shoot in the middle of the road, and Aline (from Brazil) was game enough to splat herself in the middle of it - all the while, with the rather frequent occasions where 12 ton excursion buses would trundle past precariously close to her dainty feet with curious tourists peeking out of their windows.

Holding one 300w strobe in my left hand and shooting with my right hand, with a 10kg+ (22lb) battery hanging off my shoulder is well, a bit tedious, especially when the photographer have to contort himself a little in order to get the shot, and also, raise the strobe high enough so it doesn't scorch the image...

Add that to the serious heat 32C+ (90F+) at very high humidity made it almost unbearable for Aline (despite her being from a rather warm country) and myself included. Hot, wet and sticky indeed - and the sweat just refuses to evaporate.

Let's say, "Whew, luckily, I've got the body size and arm length to pull it off. Else I'm dead meat."

That reminds me - that photography of this sort is team work - if I go solo, I'd probably prepare myself to bear with the inconveniences. ;P

p.s. Actually, I did another one at night last monday, in the middle of the road of the main shopping district of my country, but that shot was more complicated and it needed more post work.

Simple but brilliantly executed! Great facial expression of the model, perfect focus and lighting (I'm trying to imagine how you managed to photograph her and holding a strobe in the other hand :D ).

Thank you!

It was quite a body stretch - not to mention, hand shaking shoot, I had shoots on Friday and Saturday, so there's the thing about accumulated fatigue, and at the set, my hands did tire out more quickly than usual. ^^; :) and yeah, it's kinda hard - in the sense that I took about 20 similar photos, only this one looks satisfactory... ^^;
